NEW TAX RATES FOR TAX DAY

Well here it is tax day again, and I'd like to remind voters that thanks to the Democrats' tax hike, voters are now paying higher State income taxes.  In fact, the average family in Michigan will owe nearly $300 more in State income taxes.  That's $300 less to help with the mortgage payment or to buy gas at a time when we need every dollar we can get.

Washington is SENDING us money to stimulate the economy yet Lansing is TAKING our money.

All because the majority Democrats in Lansing didn't do enough to cut waste and reform government.

Today House Republicans are holding press conferences across the State to announce legislation to completely repeal the income tax hike passed last fall.  In addition to immediately rolling the tax rate back to 3.9 percent, the Republican plan also includes a detailed list of specific cuts and government reforms to offset the DEMOCRATIC TAX HIKE, such as:

-Limiting the length of time an able-bodied person can receive welfare to four years.
-Privatizing some Department of Corrections functions.
-Creating a Medicaid Inspector General to root out millions in fraud, and
-Reducing tax dollars sent to mismanaged cities like Detroit.

These initiatives would become reality if we had a Republican majority to get the legislation passed.  Send a clear message to Lansing and vote out the irresponsible, tax-hiking Democrats.

Democrats voted to raise taxes at a time when working families could least afford it.  Every taxpayer in Michigan should be deeply offended that the majority Democrats chose to protect themselves and special interests instead of working families.

Here we go!
Okay folks, the hat's officially in the ring. Everyone says this will be a tough race, and for it to be a meaningful exercise in democracy, I need your involvement. I've got issues, opinions and ideas, but this campaign is about YOU, the voter--your input means a lot to me. Tell me what you think!
